How much work is it to mate a car front end (1952 Chev) to the front end of a 1/2 ton pick up truck?
Does the truck frame just sit on the front clip (if thats the right term) where the car frame sat? Is it a "bolting" up sort of situation?
See, I told you this would make you laugh..... I'm laughing! I'm just looking to get educated here. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 187 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 187 | Why is that a dumb question? I don't own a Chevy at the moment but am in the process of swapping front suspensions on my '53 F100. There are alot of "kits" out there but I'm not sure that any of them are a simple bolt on. The one I'm using is supposed to be but there's no way I'm driving it at highway speeds without that puppy being welded in. I think the key to the sway is to find a donor vehicle that has a similar frame width. The older MOPAR B-body K-members are a close match for 48-56 F100's. Here's a link to my photos: F100 and if you're brave enough to stray to the other side; here's a link to the steps I've been through so far (only worked one weekend on it so far). my Gibbon IFS swap | | | | | Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 35 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 35 | 49/50/51/52/53/54 Chevy Car front suspension in AD Truck.
