Anyone have the time? If so, thanks in advance...
I tried making one out of a piece of hangar strap, but it was too flexible and would not pull the passenger side over enough to unlatch.

My '58 donor seat might have the rod.
Wouldn't that seat be the same as your '57?
I couldn't let go of the seat or its parts, I need it for my '59... but if I have the rod on it I'll be happy to measure it for you Thursday.

To verify the part, I'm looking at my Assembly Manual, Section 1 Sheet 63. Is the Rod referred to as Locking Rod, Part Number 3720200?

Yes, that is the exact part I need measured. Looking at the picture, though, it looks like it has an adjustable clevis type link end.
No worries...If you give me the dimensions of yours, I will build one that adjusts in that range.
