| | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 96 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 96 | I am having difficulty when shifting, after shifting into 3rd the engine slows like its being over burdened, yet it will speed back up and run fine when I shift into 4th it will do the same but if I'm not driving down hill it will stall, I've never hit 5th without going downhill also.
A military mecanic told me that in the transmission of the older m-35s there is rods that are adjustible and there just out of alinment causing the shifting problems,
Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know the correct term for these rods and know how to adjust them?

When I would drive my s10 I had the same problem when I would skip gears (I was trying to get used to the shift pattern) the engine would act bogged down then it would regain enough power to work though it.
I am positive there is more to the problem with the engine sitting as long as it did but the way the problem progresses through the gears getting increasingly worse the high the gear seems to indicate an adjustment to me but I could be wrong.

If the engine is bogging, you are not revving the engine fast enough or you are shifting in situations where you should stay in the gear you are in. You must remember you have you have a heavy vehicle with something like 100 HP. | | |
