My name is Rich and this is my 1961 Chevy 1/2 ton short bed given to me by my Mother and Father-in Law. My father-in law Bobby "Pappy" passed away in January of 2011 from Lung Cancer. Before he passed away he purchased this truck with the hopes of fixing it up with my mother-in law (Tish). He purchased this truck in California and then he really starting getting sick. I worked feverishly to get this truck shipped back to his home here in Missouri before he passed away. We did not make it, unfortunately he passed away before he was able to see it again or do any work on it. So, Tish gave me the truck with the plans that her and I would restore it together in his honor, I also plan on including my wife, son, and daughter in on the build.

So about the truck: It is a 1961 Chevy 1/2 ton short bed, it has a 1973 Chevy 350 Engine, Turbo 350 Transmission, and a 12 Bolt rear end. As you can see by the pictures it has a 1963 GMC hood. One thing my father in law did have done in California before we shipped it home was have the aftermarket wheels that were on it when he purchased it, and had the Baby Moons installed, so those will stay.

Welcome to the bolt! Nice '61 you've got there. Pappy will be proud to know it's in good hands!

Welcome, Rich, from another Rich! Nice looking truck! Doesn't look like it needs a whole lot.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
