Almost all 216 engines and most pre-1954 235 engines had 2 bolts (often with "acorn" nuts) holding the valve cover to the head.
Later 235 and all 261 engines had 4 machine screws (sometimes they were 1/4"x20-thread pan-head "stove bolt" screws) on the sides of the valve covers.
T55Z indicates a 1955 car engine (manual transmission) made in Tonawanda, NY. It came with mechanical lifters.
3837004 is a 235 block casting code used from 55-57

You can get dual everything for this motor, only factory dual exhaust was for the '53 and 54 Corvette 235s. I can only see one exhaust pipe outlet but too hard for me to tell.
The "848" head is slightly higher compression and therefore is thought to be desirable. Valve sizes are the same as a std 235 head however so it's something I don't understand unless that heads has lumps. You may have a pretty good engine there. The engine was seized beyond belief too. so moving along im going for a dual carb setup on this so
what manifold will go best with the exhaust manifold
offenhauser, fenton or others?
any thougts are welcome
