Hey there all you stovebolters, got a question,my next project for my 63' is to install carpet. Was wanting to know what brand and which brand had the best color you were happy with once it was in your hands. Thanks ahead of time.

Try www.stockinteriors.com in SC. I am 100% satisfied with the 1 piece floormat I got for my '69 C20. They even cut the mat long because my truck is a Panel Truck!

I also used Stock Interiors for my 59 and found them to be a very good vendor.

Thanks all, I looked into stockinteriors. They were very helpful,they even sent six samples of the carpet I was looking at and was able to dicide on the color that matched my color combo. When money becomes more available I plan on purchasing it. May be awhile,but in the mean time I am installing vibration dampening material. I get that material from Home Depot, it is 6" wide and 25 feet in length. That idea came from this site by a fellow stovebolter. Am very happy with it and the cost is very reasonable. Thanks again to all. Will post some pictures when available.

Just got word that our 64's carpet and floormats from stockinteriors arrived today- we chose the carpet from samples they sent- also opted for the mass backing-I'll let you know how they look and fit after this weekend adn post pictures of the installation.

For your 59 carpet did you get it with the Mass Backing or not? Did you have to trim anything or did it fit right out of the box.

Received the carpet and floor mats- the installation was pretty straightfoward- we laid out the carpet in the house to get the fold lines out. It fit pretty well to the conturs of the cab- it was oversized in all directions- so we laid in in the cab and again let it rest a bit to get it to lay flat. We trimmed the sides and back- tucking the carpet under the tank.

The carpet near the kick panles (right and left foot well areas) took a bit of time- I really like the mass backing as it gave the carpet a good bit of "body" - they also added felt pads to the bottom of the carpet- which I wasn't expecting- but was a nice touch. We left the front of the carpet long and isntalled a trimmed/modified cardboard firewall pad over the edges-see pictures:

I trimmed the firewall pad quite a bit along the bottom- then cut back the felt padding on the back 1/8" leaving a little 1/8" carboard lip on the bottom- then I split some vaccum line and put it over the edge of the cardboard for a more "finished" look (used weatherstrip adhesive to stick the slit line on the cardboard)

the seats, jack and accessories and seatbelts also sill plates are all that are holding it in place ( no adhesive)

There are a couple areas where the carpet is not laying flat on the contours of the cab- but I imagine that over time these will settle down- I chose the 80/20 carpet and I think it looks great!

Here are the new retractable belts we installed much better that the adjust yourself variety....
