Well, my son and I have FINALLY started working on restoring the truck I learned to drive in, a 55 Chevy series 2.
I joined this forum because I'm a software developer, not a mechanic and I'm going to need all the advice I can get! We have the truck torn down to the frame and I'm just waiting to get the 250 engine sold so that we can remove the front/rear end and have the frame dipped. I'm putting on a new front/rear end and dropping a 350 into it. Obviously, we're not going original and I'm sure that once I get to decision of tranny, rear, etc. I'll need help from the experts. Hopefully, that's where you will all come in!

Well, just thought I'd say "hi".

Chris

Hi Chris. Welcome. It's nice to see a few Oregonians on here. Where in Oregon are you located? I'm guessing Hillsboro or some place in the suburbs of Portland??

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Thanks, everyone for the welcome. It's great to have a place to go to when I need answers and who knows, with experience I might be able to answer a few of my own! :-)

Hi Chris,welcome from Scotland.
Like the guys say, you'll find everything you need right here.
I see some of your 'neighbours' have chimed in already!
Stick around and you'll be up to speed before you know it.
Good luck.
Jock.
