Ok, here's an easy one: Should the zirk fittings on my tie-rod ends point towards the front or the rear of the truck? I doubt that I'll ever have to grease them again but would like to do 'em right.

Same question on the locking brackets that lock the ends into the tie-rod: Should the nut be facing the front or rear? Want to make it easy on my alignment guy.

I would point the zirks in whatever direction it makes it EASY for the guy running the grease gun.

I would leave them pointing whichever direction they are when I got them tight.

I think that deserves a rim-shot! So I found a picture from when I pulled the truck apart, it looks like the zirk fitting is on the front side of the tie-rod end, and the nuts on the bracket face forward as well. As the old saying goes: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It don't make a rats fannie, use a flex hose on the grease gun.
