Hello,

My name is Wade, i'm 23 and live in Fort Collins, Colorado. I usually deal with DSM's (90-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse and Eagle Talons) but I inherited a '52 5 window 3100 from my uncle and I have some pretty neat plans for it. Right now it's sitting in a pasture where it has been since 1970ish with the spare chassis. It's in pretty rough shape but I think it will come out pretty cool.

The plan is to clean up the interior and get the 215 engine running. Then put a new bed in it and drive it for a while. Then i'll do a mustang II front suspension and a 4 link with a 9in on the spare frame and i'm leaning towards a 292 with a turbo and fuel injection. Once that chassis is ready to go ill swap the cab and frame and call it a day.

Anyways enough talking time for pictures.

and the spare frame...

It's been there so long a sapling has grown into a pretty good sized tree between the frame and drum.

Welcome to stovebolt. Looks like it is pretty much all there, some assembly required.

Hi Wade, welcome from Scotland,it's always good to see the young guys taking an interest in the older stuff.
Your new truck looks in pretty good shape, thankfully the Colorado weather doesn't look like it's been too cruel to it.
The spare chassis looks in great condition, and your Bel-Air is just stunning.
Good luck.
Jock.

Hi Wade, welcome. My son was into DSM for a while too. Looks like a good project right there. Many of our projects started out like that. Be sure to ask if you have any questions.

Hi Wade, Another warm welcome from Colorado Springs. Lots of good information here from restoration to hot rodding, this crew's willing to share what they know.
Welcome and have fun. BTW - Beautiful '57, one day the '52 will be as nice I'm sure.

The 57 is getting completely torn down in the next few weeks. The body is going to be blasted and the cancer repaired. The frame is going to get powder coated and i'm gonna fix the interior a little bit. Then the body is going to get repainted a color close to the one it is now. As for the 52' i'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a little bit so I can move it into the shop and start tearing it down. If anyone hears or has a complete long block 292 HD-TD for sale i'm interested if the price is right. I look forward to posting and learning more on here and inliners.

A little update. I pulled the truck out of the spot it has been sitting in for 30 years today. I had to cut down a pretty big tree that grew up between the frame and the passenger side rear tire on the frame sitting in front of the truck to move it. All in all it took about 5 hours. I ended up taking the leaf springs and rear axle off the frame to get it out. Here's the album that has the picture from today as well as some others. www.photobucket.com/chevy3100project.

Also is there a build thread area on the forum?
