So I'm building a 1950 chevy to be my daily drivers with soem obvious changes so that it runs without killing my wallet haha.
So I'll drive it back and forth to school.
Her name is Lucy and I prayed her into my life because I'm in high school and I had no clue where to begin and so far we have
8 doors
3 hoods
2 frames
2 cabs
3 front fenders
2 back fenders
2 beds
3 seats(frame and all)
2 gas tanks
and some other stuff
and most of it is basically brand new with surface rust
all for 1500$
God is providing and I'm so excited to get Lucy running,
any tips for dis assembly, building and other tips are DESPERATELY needed haha!

The best piece of advice that I recieved when I started my truck was to sit down and write down all the things that you need to do and then divide them into workable groups. This way you can get a sense of accomplishment throughout the process. Start going to local car shows, introduce yourself to as many people who are knowledgeable or have the type of truck you like.
My experience is that as soon as you can get it ready for body work the better, as that is what has taken the longest and has cost the most money.... Good Luck, don't lose the faith.

Welcome to the Stovebolt TaylorRollins. Sounds like you have a good start on your project. Get it together and just think, You'll never have a truck payment and you'll always be in style.

Where bout's you at in N.C. Close to Spartanburg? you may want to come to the Southern Stovebolt Reunion April 28th. Love to have you.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome to the bolt! The first thing you will need is a shop manual or you can read one online.

Take it slow, write down your plans (less costly at the end) and make sore to read some of the other forums!

Welcome Taylor, the tip for dis-assembly is to take pictures and label everything, even if it seems obvious what it's for. I re-assembled stuff 4 years after tearing it apart. Good luck.

Welcome aboard. Plan your work and work your plan. It'll be a lot of fun.
