I bought a 71 GMC 3500 and "going through" the mechanicals to make it safe etc. Wanted to replce the front flexible brake line hoses. It has disc brakes. Was told the flex line for that truck has been discontinued for years. Called Classic Parts to ask if the 3/4 Chevy line would fit and he said the GMC did not have the same braking systems as Chevy. The line is not leaking so I am not out of a truck. Any sugestions on who to call to see if any are avaialble in the aftermarket. If not, what then....change the spindle and related parts over to a later model?

Napa catalog shows 36678 &36679 R&L for 71 GMC. It shows the same for Chev. They should be readily available.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Your not crazy. The only supplier of these lines I have found is through Jim Carters. I only saw them there once and not since. You can find a brake place to custom make the hose, but they don't use the rounded heads with the tab where the banjo bolt goes through. this may require you to take a grinder to the caliper for them to actually fit.

Maybe Jim Carter carries them again.
