So after spending a good amount of money on building this 261, I'm thinking I should replace the head, main and flywheel bolts.
What are others using?
I just looked at the ARP catalog. Almost everything they have listed is for the 250 series blocks, not the 235,261.
I can order studs, which I might do, for the head.
I'm just curious what others are doing.

Try Chevies of the 40's and McMaster Carr.

I started working on these things when Christ was a corporal and never replaced the bolts and never had a bolt failure. Make sure the threads are clean and they are properly torqued, youll be OK.

well if you do decide to get new bolts, ARP doesn't have a full complement of bolts that will fit in all the locations, they do however have studs that will work. ARP was the best company to work with I have ever seen.

I went with the bolts I had.
When I realized this engine will NEVER see 6000 rpm I made my decision.
I used to build High output 5 cylinder turbo powered engines.. I guess old habits die hard.

Now when I build a six with Fuel Injection, Electronic Ignition, Turbo, yeah ... then I'll call ARP.

@brokenhead- yeah they are always simple to deal with.
