Someone correct me if this isn't right for 1938: HC: 1/2 ton HD: 3/4 ton HE: 1 ton T: 1-1/2 ton

Mine is an HE (1 ton) and has the same 17 inch wheels and hubcaps. I was thinking about upgrades (mustang II OR disc brakes on the original axle)).Should i look for a 1/2 ton frame?

It gives the break down on the whole 1938 Chevrolet line up, weight and measurements. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyresto/38index.htmAnd yes to your question, the one ton is a different frame and finding aftermarket parts to fit it will be hard. I bought a very rusted '51 axle that has been converted to disc brakes. It has a 5 lug hub and I want a 6 lug. I also have a '51 original axle with 6 lugs that hasn't been converted.
I think I can use the caliper brackets, and make the original axle work.
