I have the engine electrical system back together again and can't seem to get any spark. I am using a 12 volt battery, so that may be an issue?? I have some good spare parts (ie coil, distributor, carb) off of my 1957 235 that I would like to use for this engine, but was wondering if they could be used. Will they fit no problem?? I did notice that the intake manifolds have different center to center carb studs, so I will have to make an adaptor.. I was thinking about using wood, unless someone else has a better idea. Now I am wondering if the distributor will fit. I like the idea of having vacuum advance on this motor. Any ideas guys?? Thanks!!!!!

Do you have the 216 manifolds and distributor, and carb. Also did you try it on 6 volts. | | |

Make sure you didn't burn the points together. A 57 235 uses a different distributor, bigger cap and rotor and the length from where it mounts to the tang that runs the oil pump is different. It can be modified to fit but if you were to do that you might as well look an an HEI system from a later vehicle or put in a 235 | | |
