I find that if I press my brake pedal twice while stopping, the second time it doesn't go nearly as far down...almost like it needs two pumps to pressure up the lines. I'm not losing brake fluid anywhere, nothing is leaking. Is there maybe some air in the line or is this normal in old vehicles with no power brakes?
Truck's a 61 btw

Adjust the shoes up tight and back the off some. If that doesnt do it, get a helper and properly bleed them again. If it still feels off, adjust the pedal rod going into the master, Scott | | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 1,451 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 1,451 | If I understand, the pedal is firm on the 1st apply but low, correct? If so then the brakes are out of adjustment. The springs haven't returned the shoes all the way when you jab them the 2nd (or 3rd) timecausing the pedal to rise.

Yeah BC59 that is right, they are firm on the first apply but the pedal is low...they don't feel spongy at all. Guess I keep forgetting how old this truck is, the brakes don't adjust themselves, I have to do it, ha ha
