AFAIK it's an easy thing to do,leaving just two small holes to fill.
Chevrolet obviously considered them necessary but I assume your truck will not be used in a commercial sense,i.e lugging heavy loads around any more....
I imagine you'll be OK.

But do not eliminate the rear brace that goes from the rear bottom edge for the fender up the the frame. Chuck,to avoid the wrath of the Moderators,we should stick to 'on topic' matters in the sub-forums.(Just keepin' you right)
The fenders are fairly stout pressings due to their compound shape,but as wbrowne correctly points out,the rod braces at the rear of the fenders must be fitted.
You'd be amazed at just how much of a difference they make.
I might have to trim my centre ones slightly as my tyres may rub on full compression of the suspension,but I won't have to remove them altogether.

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 67 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 67 | I took out the fender braces. Tightened all the bolts up on the fender to the sides and the running boards. I can't even tell I took out the braces. The fenders are firm with know movement.
