Does this mean I have to pull the drums every time I need to adjust them, or should I put some holes in them like the rear brakes. I checked the online manual and seen nothing to help..... BUT, isn't the holes in the drum so you can get to the adjusting wheel through it??? I can't remember and my personal shop manual is on loan. Check the drum and let us know. They may be a "knock out" in the drum but surely by now, after all these years someone would have knocked them out!!

Nothing on no adjustment holes. So I will get my drill and dremel out and put some oval holes and rubber plugs. I was really just wondering if any one has ever seen backing plates without the oval holes.
I am so glad to be feeling so good now that the 2 year sinus thing is resolved and have energy to get back to the old girl. Will be nice to drive her in and out of the garage instead of pushing. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 244 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 244 | My '37 drums have holes for adjusting from the drum side (You have to pull the wheel to adjust the brakes). Pull a wheel and check before you mess with the backing plates. | | |
