The internal venturi size on the 261 carb is larger than on the 235.

Of course there is always exceptions to the rule. Their's will be pricey, but it will give you an idea what to look for elsewhere.

NOS is about the only possibility and my experience matches Carbking and Whitedog in that they can be identified by measuring the throttle bore.

From what I've been told (by the guys here and elsewhere) dual 216/early235 carbs are easier to tune and calibrate.
