You do realize that you have to use a 216 water pump with that adaptor plate.

People with some older-style water pumps from non-216 engines might think (from your helpful suggestion) that they need a 216 pump.
When using the adapter plate, you would need to use a water pump for a 1955-1st series or older truck engine.
That would include:
- all 216 engines
- 1941 through 1955-1st series 235 engines
- 1954 and 1955-1st series 261 engines (a sometimes special, but older style water pump that is hard to find)
As Tim posted above, you would want to choose a year that had a pulley on the water pump that matches the groove-width on the block's generator and harmonic balancer.
1953 to 1955-1st 235 and 261 engines had narrower fan belts than used on earlier 235/216 engines.
