I definitely have a 55-62 block and a 41-54 water pump. By viewing the Links and information sent to me by Brad Allen I see what I do need is the attachment plate. I got this truck literally in a basket, or should I say numerous baskets.
I went looking today for a water pump that would move the fan up 2 inches. None to be found.
If you or anyone else knows of just where I can get the attachment plate, it would be very helpful.

You do realize that you have to use a 216 water pump with that adaptor plate.

I went to the wrecking yard and bought an auxiliary electric fan for 30.00 and mounted it in front of the radiator, on a toggle switch.
Quick, simple and easy.

Pete,

People with some older-style water pumps from non-216 engines might think (from your helpful suggestion) that they need a 216 pump.

When using the adapter plate, you would need to use a water pump for a 1955-1st series or older truck engine.

That would include:
- all 216 engines
- 1941 through 1955-1st series 235 engines
- 1954 and 1955-1st series 261 engines (a sometimes special, but older style water pump that is hard to find)

As Tim posted above, you would want to choose a year that had a pulley on the water pump that matches the groove-width on the block's generator and harmonic balancer.

1953 to 1955-1st 235 and 261 engines had narrower fan belts than used on earlier 235/216 engines.

You are right Tim,I keep forgetting that the 41 to 55 235 truck engine used the same pump as my 216.

Thanks,Pete
