I thought it was said that in 55 chevy brought out tubeless 22.5 wheels with a ten lug 7.25" pattern. I was talking to a junk dealer yesterday and he said yes to the 22.5" wheel but it comes as 6 lug wheel. So I went to the gallery and looked at 55-59 big bolts and sure enough I saw 6 lug wheels.
So how did Chevy make it possible to chose the optional old style tube type 20" wheel, which would have been 10 lug with a 7.25" lug pattern?
Am I totally confused or what, because I have been looking for a 22.5, ten lug, 7.25" lug pattern, tubeless wheel.
Dan

I have 2 that came on my truck | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | Some info here http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/wheels/Yes Chevy had 10 lugs on the 1.5 ton trucks in 56-59 and on the 2 tons they had 6 lug Budd in those years, then dropped the 10 lugs in later years. Yes there are 22.5" wheels with 10 lug on 7.25" diameter bolt circle out there, they are not all that common though. I've got a set on my truck and have seen a number of others, you've just got to keep looking. So if I hear you correctly, those wheels are only going to be seen on a 1.5 ton if they didn't chose the optional old style tube type 20" wheel.
That would make them uncommon, for sure ! Let me know when you see some more of them.

I have only been into big bolts for a short time and all I have seen is the 6 bolt 55-59. thanks Grigg | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 863 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 863 | My 1956 1.5 ton has 10 bolt 20" rims..... | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 667 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 667 | Hey Grigg --- do you know offhand what the rim width for those puppies might be? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy guys, those 22.5" wheels were 5.25" wide, and the original p/n was 3724677, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Exactly right on the width, no other width available that I've ever seen or heard of with this bolt pattern.
