From Shane : Since 2002, I built a new chassis with a 1975 Camaro sub frame grafted on an original frame. I built a custom 4 link rear suspension with a narrowed Dana 44 rear end. The truck had 29 x 15.5 wide tires on vintage 15 x 12 Fenton Gyro wheels. Here's another good size view. I have also completed the interior and added A/C. I am not stranger to this kind of modifications since I have been around a body shop my whole life. I like the old stuff and my brother that owns the body shop wants nothing to do with old stuff. He tells me it just causes me headaches and I tell him new is boring. Shane
Shane has been with us a long time. He has several trucks in the Gallery and some impressive work! In 2002, the sent in the story of his 1959 Chevrolet Apache Fleetside. In January 2011, he told us about a cool 1959 Chevy Apache 32 NAPCO. We got a story on his all custom work 1957 Chevy Low Cab Forward (that he made into a four door!) in early 2013. 12 September 2002 Here is my 1959 Chevy Apache. It is my daily driver. I converted it over to independent front suspension, with 4 wheel power disc brakes and power steering. I am running a mildly built 350 and a 700r4 over-drive tranny. I have been working on this classic truck for two years and finally shot some paint on it last month. I did throw a/c in it this summer. All that needs finished is the interior. Here is a cool picture from a burn out contest I was in.

Shane, looks like a lot of hard work with some really great results. Also looks like you will be keeping food on the table for the local tire shop owner! ~ Curator
