In a few hours I'll steel wool it and put the second coat on. I plan on three coats of epoxy on both sides

Thanks for the compliment but believe me when I say this is my 1st time! I read about it in the body repair manual.
I feel I have nothing to lose but maybe gain a usable fender.

Today I put the final coat on the top side of my last board. This pm I set the board in a bucket with clear epoxy to allow the end of the board to drink all night. Tomorrow I will flip the board to drink from the other end. Probably Thursday I’ll be bolting the board on the bed and tightening down all bed bolts. Whew…

My buddy Andy who I met through one of the V8 S10 boards came down from Pittsburgh,Pa for a visit & some bartering. The thing about it is that crazy SOB is the one that said, "Hey Joe I have some vacation to burn, how about I come for a visit & do that welding." Never mind he was going to drive about 10hrs to get here. I asked what he wanted for doing all the welding & he said some S10 parts I had. A deal was made, he showed up yesterday evening. We got all of that above done today, started at 7am & & came in at 10pm. Took a couple of food & rest breaks in between all the welding & grinding going on in the garage. We'll finish up all the welding tomorrow & possibly put the suspension on the frame & slide it under Large Marge.. What more could I say but, THANKS Andy for all the help.....joe Joe, I asked for pictures and you give us Picasso. Great Cadillac pics. I found it humorous to see you or Andy sitting in a chair and working on your frame. Then I got to thinking how useful something to sit on while working at knee level. I remember the rolling seats you would see at the library and elsewhere. That would be a good addition to any work area.

I was able to open the driver side door for the first time (the fender was pushed back and didn't allow this). That alone really made my day!
There's still a huge mountain to climb. When I finally get to the top, I know there'll be an awesome view to behold!

So this weekend I closed the garage door and fired up the newly installed a/c unit and worked in a comfortable 74 degrees as I installed the kick panels on both sides of the ’53 and tested out the sound system (in the truck). It went on really quick. The instructions said to pull the axles to get the old backing plate off, but I cut the backing plates most of the way with a sawz-all and then the last bit with the dremel. The brackets bolt to the same holes as the old backing plate. Replace the studs with longer ones (supplied in the kit). Slid the new rotor over the studs. Bolt the calipers to the brackets and all that's left to do is the brake line and e-brake cables. I'll finish running the brake line tonight or tomorrow. I ordered a new set of e-brake cables to mate with the Lokar e-brake handle mounted to the Lokar shifter.

CPP kit bolts to the inside of the backing plate mounting holes. And they only go 3/4 of the way around the axile tube, so you don't have to disturb the axile, just slip them over the tube and attach them with 3 bolts (also supplied in the kit).
