Few months ago I promised some new photos when I got off tour and able to get my hands on my new baby
here they are

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/armorgolem/hearse/driver2.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/armorgolem/hearse/passback.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/armorgolem/hearse/thetow.jpg

After a nerve racking tow to the house I unloaded the goodies inside the truck.
3 door skin
2 front fenders
1 back
3 sets of back doors
2 sets of front doors
2 hood sets
extra window hardware
alot of trim
a spare tire
and alot of metal parts I dont yet know what they are

I'm going to start with getting the rust off, any suggestions?
ospho or grinder then prime it?

I'd just use a traditional sand and blast it then put a coat of decent epoxy primer on it. I'd stay away from trying to sand it because at it's age, I suspect it's pitted and you'll never get into the pits unless you sand a lot of the metal down. I guess if you didn't have access to blast it, you could sand it down then go back over with with a chemical, but that's a lot of work.

Golem, what a great project! I would sand/ abrasive blast or have it tank dipped. Definitely go with epoxy primer, as it won't start rusting again if you're not in a big hurry to finish it. Take lots of pics along the way, that is a rare truck smile

Wow, what a cool truck. You can't help but be taken by its looks!

I would try some 3M stripper discs on a drill to see what you have in several places. The discs don't affect the metal but they will take off surface rust, paint and bondo. If money were no object I would dip it. Man, the sides of that beasty look really straight.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Thanks for all the input guys! exactly what I needed to hear

The lines on her are perfect, just a few rust holes and dents here and there but I really lucked out.

I'm going to look into dipping in my area

Definatly keep everyone up to date with the progress

If the shortcut actully worked it would be called "the way"
