The 250 will not bolt up to the 1950 bell housing. I believe that the old tranny will not bolt to a modern bell housing without a spacer to adapt from the bore of the modern bellhousing to the input bearing housing outside diameter of the tranny.
A 3 speed of the same vintage as the engine makes the swap easier, but then you have to deal with the torque tube driveshaft and differential.
This swap is not easy, but not impossible.

You can use a bellhousing for the 250 but you will still need to fab mounts.
