Hood is setting high at cowl area on 56 3200. It has a new cowl gasket. Are there different gaskets? It seems rather high. I can't get any more adjustment from the hinges. Any hints?

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

the cowl top seal won't affect positioning, it crushes easily .... the more likely problem is you have worn hinge pins, which allow the back of the hood to move up because of the spring tension - if the hood opens and closes well and lays right with the springs off, but stands proud at the back with the springs on, you need new hinges
