For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2011 Posts: 187 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2011 Posts: 187 | Just would like to say Hello from the twin cities. I have visited Stovebolt.com several times and have learned a great deal about the older Chevy trucks. I own a 1950 1 ton 3800 series with a 9' stepside bed. The truck has been in our family since new & passed down form the original owner to my dad & finally to me. My son & I spent several evenings & weekends this spring getting it back on the road. It has done more sitting that anything else the last several years, but just a week ago we took it out for a spin for the first time. It isn't much to look at right now but we are having fun driving it again, the cosmetics will be addressed later this year. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | Welcome to the site. Love it when these trucks get passed down like that. Good luck on the cosmetics.

You never know if it is going to make it! Thank goodness for cell phones! We always take care of the machinics first, and the cosmetics kind of grow on ya the way it is. LOL Glad you joined, good luck! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 164 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 164 | Welcome 3800, I'm sort of new here myself, and have learned alot so far. There must be alot of trucks up north. I may have to come up there and find another one for myself.
Welcome Chris

Look forward to learning new things from everyone & offering advice when I can to all those folks driving the 1 tons. Drove mine today about 20 miles just for fun. I also own a 1946 3/4 ton which will be a project for next year (maybe). Hoping to be at *Back to the 50's* show in mid-June in St. Paul with the 1950.

Is your truck a stepside or a flat bed 1 ton? Thanks for saying hello. Tom | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 92 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 92 | Welcome 3800GUY. Drove my 49 4400 around the other day as well now that the weather is nice. always brings a smile to my face. If you have a questions here is the place to ask it.
