Hello, I was told that I could use 72 chevy ft. spindles & disc brakes set up on my 65 ? I was also told to use the 72 ball joints ? Does anyone know if this factory 72 setup will bolt to my 65 ? Thanks, Jerry

I got '71 spindles/ball joints on mine, works well-I used the tie rod adapters from CPP instead of using the later steering assembly(tie rod ends are a diff size)

I changed the whole crossmember with linkage, control arms, spindles, discs, etc. from a 73-87 1/2 ton. pretty much bolted right up.

I have a 64 and am also thinking about doing this with mine. Anybody know if the stance is the same? do you still use the stock coil springs? If I did the whole crossmember swap and then used some 2.5" drop spindles for the 73-87 would it be the same as putting them on the stock suspension?

Better yet, has anybody used drop spindles with the 73-87 crossmember swap?

This is the most comprehensive thread I'm aware of regarding the various front disc brake options for our trucks:
