OK, so this isn't a dating site. The intros all seem that way. I'm an independent insurance appraiser. I don't have a truck, but I do have two '64 Studebaker cars I'm working on. I need a little help on a couple of work related items so I joined the board. I hope to able to return the contributions.

I saw a restored 54 Champion at an antique shop this past weekend... NICE. I hadn't seen one of those in years.
My dad and I bought one and a 51 for parts in the early '70s... me, I thought the 51 was so unique, I would have liked to see it restored instead. It was fashioned after an airplane and made you feel like you were in a cockpit of one. Sadly, once scavenged, the 51 was sent to the crusher.
Dad sold the 54... I wouldn't be surprised if the one I saw lat weekend was that car!

Back in the mid 90's when I was involved in the SCCA, I had a Suzuki Swift GT I raced in Improved Touring. I had a lot of fun. It was also around that time I got my first computer and got on my first forum. I haven't run into anyone using the same logon, so to this day, I still use it. Even with two Studebakers...

When I was about 14, I had two photos of cars in my bedroom ... a Jag XKE, and a Studebaker Grand Turismo Hawk. I still like both cars. '53 Stude may have been the best looking car of the decade.

There are a lot of you guys around. Saw some good looking Studebakers at the Daytona Turkey Run and the Daytona Spring show. Five or six at an Easter Seals show in Sorrento last weekend. Are you going to be at the AACA Heritage Classic & Antique Car Show in Lake Helen on Apr 30?

I agree, with others - the depth of knowledge on this forum may prompt you into buying a stovebolt truck, too.

I'm no different than other car/truck folks. Certain vehicles run thru your mind and there are all sorts of projects you'd like to do. I grew up a Mopar fan and really hated GM stuff (Ford fell somewhere in the middle). I've always been a big fan of Chrysler 300 letter cars.

With the recent trouble with the auto industry, I'm definitely a Big 3 guy, and that includes some GM stuff. After restoring a '71 Plymouth Fury GT 20 years ago, I learned the value of aftermarket support (and buying rust free projects).

I have Studebakers because Barrett-Jackson has priced me out of Mopars. My Daytona was a roller from California. It's definitely solid. My Commander I bought against my better judgement (rusty FL car).

I've had the thought go thru my mind building a Chevy truck. Especially if I can find a rust free A/C cab from 67-70 with a title with it. Or a 48-53 from the ground up. Need to finish the Daytona first. It's only 25% completed (or 75% incompleted).

I like the resto mod stuff. Ideally, I'd do a '52-'53 5 window cab that looks bone stock on the outside and inside, but with a Vortec 4200 inline 6, a 4L60E trans and A/C. Probably also power disc brakes and steering.

That or a '67-'70 C-10 with an LS3, 4L60E and make my own C-10 SS. Unfortunately, I probably have another $25K I need to spend on my Studie...

By the way, I don't think the AACA would like my Daytona. While still going to be Studebaker powered, it'll be a period street machine.
