Got my first stovebolt by accident, luckily found this site shortly after.
I was on auto bid on ebay because the truck was fairly local. Didn't make the reserve. Item was relisted, I placed the same max bid and forgot about it.
Imagine my surprise when I recieve an email from the seller encouraging payment.
It was also a great source of joy and happiness
for my lady, Joyce. Hence my stovebolt moniker.
I towed it home, not trusting the brake lines. Truck ran, dump worked. Had been sitting for several years. Home all told under $1000, including tow and tip. I started it and drove it from the tow on the road to the yard. Hasn't started since. I think I'll start with the fuel source(lot of bouncing while towing from the rear)and work my way around. My starting plan is to make it into all around work truck, though these things often change.
There it sits til spring really rolls in.
Fred can't wait, and boy will he look great hanging out that window.
It'll look even better if the truck is moving.
