I need to see how the springs and washers stack up on the J bolt. I have the factory service manual but it does not show a break down of the parts in the parking brake, just the whole assembly. I cannot tell from that picture if I am missing parts or how they even line up. Even a picture of someones truck with the same set up would help. We have the Muncie SM420 trans. | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | assembly manual doesn't show that for a 3600, 3800 should doBill | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 Extreme Gabster | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 | Bill, we don't like dead links in General Truck Talk. Maybe he fixed it? It worked for me... and led me to another great resource. Thanks Bill! I have the drum style with the band that wraps around. Bill's link worked and that is the set-up we have. Trying to figure out what exactly is at the bottom of the J bolt as the pics don't show it very clearly. | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,597 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,597 | Looked through my archive I don't have a shot of that set-up. | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | appears to me that the bottom is a shorter spring and a wide nut, castle nut, or double nut
