I have all the numbers off the block and head but can't seem to find any sites where they can tell me what size engine I have. I have bought replacement parts for my motor and have been gambling with 230 size and seem to be doing pretty good so far. Any one have any suggestions?

| | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Try Inliners International for the casting numbers, which will get you close (there's some overlap on 230 and 250 blocks). The 235 and 292 will stand out as different. The 235 is a different engine design, no parts interhchange with the 230/250/292. That one was discontinued in the US in '62 (some '63 4x4s may have used them, though). The 292 has a few differences from the 230/250, mainly the feul pump is in a different location, and the block has a taller deck hight. Otherwise, they are very similar.
If you have the stamped serial number from the pad next to the distributor, you can post it here to get it decoded.
