guys,
do any of you know the name of the color of my truck ? i know its blue, LOL, but what kind of blue ? is it an original color ?
some have told me its an original blue for 1957, but some say it's not.
do any of you know the paint code for the color ?
kind of reminds me of a ford "grabber" blue....

i am filling in the vent cowl and will eventually need to paint it.

thanks guys

the only 57 truck color similar would be Indian Turquoise, and possibly yours is someones attempt to mimic that [popular on 57 car restos], but the only way for you to match it is to take a piece to a paint supplier that has computer matching, otherwise any number you come up with couldn't be more than "no cigar"

I was painting my 57 that color. It is actually a 1958 color, Tartan Blue. upper & lower grille panel

I would take Bill's advice to be sure, but I think you will find it is the color I said. I was living in Lakeland Florida when the picture was taken & I got the paint from Auto Paint Supply there. It was single stage urethane, brand was Lesanol. There is a paint chip link here in the body forum that I got the code from & the supply shop matched it up their their product. Good luck with it.

I agree. Because any sun fading to your paint would make a newly painted area stick out like a sore thumb. When I was painting bike at a shop Honda red was the worse, so we would have to special mix to match any repairs, also pearl whites were a pain to match.
