It is actually a 1958 color, Tartan Blue. upper & lower grille panel 1957 Chevrolet 1/2-ton Stepside LB in the Gallery My Photobucket shots The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873) | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Tartan Blue, now that's a colour I like! I was living in Lakeland Florida when the picture was taken & I got the paint from Auto Paint Supply there. It was single stage urethane, brand was Lesanol. There is a paint chip link here in the body forum that I got the code from & the supply shop matched it up their their product. Good luck with it. 1957 Chevrolet 1/2-ton Stepside LB in the Gallery My Photobucket shots The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873) | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 190 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 190 | but the only way for you to match it is to take a piece to a paint supplier that has computer matching, otherwise any number you come up with couldn't be more than "no cigar"
Bill I agree. Because any sun fading to your paint would make a newly painted area stick out like a sore thumb. When I was painting bike at a shop Honda red was the worse, so we would have to special mix to match any repairs, also pearl whites were a pain to match. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 29 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 29 | It looks a 59 color Orbit Blue. | | |
