My problem is this. It has a flat sitting on the transport truck and no spare. I have a 2003 GMC half-ton pickup with six bolt pattern.
Will my spare fit the '66 or do I need to find a rim to mount a tire. I don't think I care about back spacing and all, just to move the truck around till I get some new tires on it.
I have looked and am still confused. Did the bolt pattern change when the trucks went metric? If so what year(s) will work on the 1966 Burb?
Thanks for any input. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 188 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 188 | It's the same pattern. 6x5.5. But the centre bore is smaller on the new wheel. So might not fit. Your stock one on the burb has a centre bore of about 3.6 inches.
Up to 87 2 wheel and 4x4 wheels will fit.

The later wheel will not work, as it will rub, possibly hard enough to not allow the truck to move with it on.
Fix a flat will no seal a rim or stem leak. Most times, it won't seal a puncture either. Also, most tire shops will not repair a tire that has had fix a flat put in it.

If it was "UP" when loaded then there is a good chance it'll hold air long enough to mooove it. If its tubeless the tire may go back around the rim when you jack it up enough to get air in it.

Thanks for your input. I was able to put air in the tire long enough to off-load and get it parked. I just wanted to be ready, as most truckers are not keen on wating around.
