The cab is completely done except for the SemiGloss Black plemtum box, that gets painted tommarow 1/31. When we have that painted, it will really dress off the cab. The paint break lines he did are perfect in my opinion.

Lord Have Mercy, I never though I'd get this far! What do you think of the Canyon Blue and Olympic White. Both are 1960 GMC colors, non-metallic and base coat - clear coat.

Still need to run the buffer over the clearcoat that comes Tuesday and the 50/50 mix of Flat and Semigloss top coat for the dash top.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Really Nice!! After all the pain of stripping, sanding, grinding and filing ...the fun part begins. Yeah!!!!

What's Amazing is that I was going through the older pictures and forgot just how far we've come to save that cab. I can't remember who I got the Cab from anymore. Pipe up if it was YOU!

Quick time line, note the YEARS!

Bought cab from another member fall of 2003

Cab was delivered to his dads farm in Ill. Spring 2004

Went to get cab fall of 2004

Had cab Soda Blasted Winter 2004

Friend let it re-rust all to hell (The Ba**ard) 2 weeks later

Had cab acid dipped in in early August 2005

Had Cab primed on AUGUTS 25, 2005

Katrina Came AUGUST 29th, drowned it! and had to start all over again! What a Bi*ch!

Truck had to wait until I had a house, the nerve!

Decided to clean her up in Fall 2006

Worked with some guys to cut out the rust and fix the dents in can from Fall-2006 until Until Fall of 2009.

Bodyshop Man took over at this point in October 2009 and was going good until he broke his wrist (8-10 month project hold)

Late fall 2010 cab was straightened, Exterior and Interior body work completed and colors picked.

October 2010 interior painted and complete

January 2011 Cab completely painted.

Been a LONG 7 years. I think I will win some sort of award for longest friggin time spent on a cab in history!

I know several people that would have given up a long time ago. Theris just something about that V-6 thats gets to you.

Jake

I got the Paint Code information for you. The first number is the GM code, the second Numebr is the computer code that most of the paint shops will cross ref. from

Silver Fawn Metallic
GM-47 WA7134

Charcoal Gray
GM-98 WA8073

Canyon Blue (1960/61 factory GMC color)
GM-708A WE5799

Olympic White (also sometimes called Fleet White)
GM-14 W83E5111
