LMC Truck shows a different part number for 51 and 52-55 1st MC's. I'm guessing the answer is no.

Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice)
\'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run.
My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787.

Alvin,

Here are some "year breaks" for 1/2 ton master cylinders.

It looks like 1951 (first Bendix year) is different from both 1950 (Huck brakes) and 1952 (as also shown by Highflyer).

It shows both the '51 and '52-'54 as 1 1/8" bore size. Any idea what the difference might be between them?

Nice question. I have changed my huck brakes to bendix, on my 48. Doing so, I decided to change from the huck brake master cylinder to the bendix. The lines were replumbed to match this change also. I found that the lines entering the front brakes entered from the rear where the later (I used 53 lines) entered from the front. So, until I can get the correct length lines I put a pigs tail in the line. I am using the brake line kit I purchased from one of our vendors.

I have not put this truck on the road yet so I cannot give you any information from a test run.

Napa catalog shows the 51 all by its self. The kit is the same from 51-59. The difference is probably the mounting or the pedal shaft.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Here is what the American Classic Parts told me.

"You might want to sit down for this Martin. Napa’s parts number was 14484 but their price in 2006 was $450 retail and I don’t know if they still sell it. I have one on our shelf that I can let go for $175 which is what we paid for it. They now still sell it for $205.80 NMC M14484.

However having said that we sell reproductions BR0103 from don’t know where for $99.99 that take a 7/16 x 24 fitting.

The Stove bolt guys should have told you that the 52-55 master cylinders works BR0104 and the only difference is the fitting for the brake line which takes a 1/2 x 20 Male.

We also sell the conversion fitting. BR4404.

Hope this helps but if it doesn’t still say nice things about us. Please. CM.
