we added a wheel lift to mader. found alot of bad cracks so we had to end up rebuilding the whole rear of the truck.

Brought the old girl up to date, huh? I wonder how many folks reading the title will immediately think, "he put a lift kit on a two ton?".. HA. My first thought was exactly what it turned out to be but then I used to sell wreckers. So do you intend to put a hydraulic cylinder on it to keep the recovery cable free.? Looks good and nice work Alex.

That is a really nice addition. Makes an old truck still usable for modern vehicles. I actually like the fact that it is manual, less to go wrong....it fits an old truck better too.

What are the two square openings for? Do they serve a purpose or are they cosmetic?

Looks good so far, post some more pics once you get it all done.

That is as nice a rig as a man could want. Modernization with SIMPLIFICATION... the only way to go.
Hey, Alex, you could push a freight train with that hiney!

Good work.

I see, that's a great idea, nice and low for good lighting and very well protected.

Looks good. Do you still use the truck commercially?

I'm still learning about wreckers since I got mine(It's a '51 IH L-195) but is there a reason you still have the sling on the wrecker considering you have a wheel lift? I can see leaving the tow bar on for heavy tows, but I'm confused about the sling.

yes mader is a working wrecker, matter of fact these pics were taken shortly after unhooking from a E-350. i still use the sling a good bit and used it on the E-350 earlier that day. i use the wheel lift, sling, and towbar. we tow anything from compact cars to bobtail semi's with mader so depending on the tow we can hookup to anything. plus i like to say .....real men tow with slings!!! lol
