I wonder how many folks reading the title will immediately think, "he put a lift kit on a two ton?".. HA. My first thought was exactly what it turned out to be but then I used to sell wreckers. So do you intend to put a hydraulic cylinder on it to keep the recovery cable free.? Looks good and nice work Alex. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | "mader got a new hiney"....

Makes an old truck still usable for modern vehicles. I actually like the fact that it is manual, less to go wrong....it fits an old truck better too.
What are the two square openings for? Do they serve a purpose or are they cosmetic?
Looks good so far, post some more pics once you get it all done.

Modernization with SIMPLIFICATION... the only way to go. Hey, Alex, you could push a freight train with that hiney!

I'm still learning about wreckers since I got mine(It's a '51 IH L-195) but is there a reason you still have the sling on the wrecker considering you have a wheel lift? I can see leaving the tow bar on for heavy tows, but I'm confused about the sling.
