Well, mine is rusted in place. I can move it about 1/64th of an inch.
Any good ways to get these freed up? Heat won't work, 'cause it is hot quite often anyway. Also, I presume they stick shut. I just got a truck to start after many years sitting and it runs fine, but I imagine this is restricting the power somewhat.

DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT TO BREAK IT LOOSE. Also don't tap on the counter weight as it will break off if you use to much pressure.

#71336 01/08/2007 9:28 PM | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,254 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,254 | What I did was keep soaking it with a rust buster (I used PB Blaster) and tapped it from both ends. The shaft moved back and forth, then I rotated the counter weight when it was free.
This worked for me. Best of luck
