I was lucky enough to be given 2 family heirlooms last night. A 1946 (?) Chevy 1.5 or 2 ton and a 1937 Farmall F12 tractor. I'm in my early 40's and both of these have been sitting in the same spot behind my Grandma's house since I was a kid. I can remember climbing behind the wheel and pretending to drive them as a youngster and dreaming of actually driving the truck on the road one day. Well, that dream just got a lot closer to comming true. While visiting my Uncle last night for a family Christmas get together, I noticed they had been drug from their resting spot of the last 30+ years. I inquired about them and learned they were being prepared to be taken away to the scrap metal yard! Talk about perfect timing!
Needless to say, I'm happy as a pig in mud to be the new owner of them as well as being in the right place at the right time to save them from being turned into a Toyota. I can't wait to get started on restoring both of them. I'm currently in the process of restoring a 1951 Chevy 4dr that was handed down from my Grandmother to my Father and now to me. I'm also working on my Mom's cousin's 72 Chevy shortbed. Although the 46 and F12 are both in rough shape, I'm thinking they should be an easy restoration due to the simplicity of them, especially compared to the "basket case" Chevelle I redid for a friend about 15 years ago.

JeffL, actually that idea did cross my mind. An F12 isn't a big tractor and should'nt be too much of a problem for the old girl to tote around. There is a local car show that takes place around april and they usually do have a handfull of big trucks. I'm anxious to get them down to my garage and get started on them.
