I don't have a clue how this forum works but I have just bought a 55 1st series Chevy 3100 Five window with overdrive. It will run but not smooth yet. Was just wondering how common the overdrive is in trucks mainly. Thanks for any and all comments. Love this site. wave

Welcome to the Stovebolt. As for me I've never seen and old pickup with overdrive. I'd say they will make your life a lot easier. Lots of infor and good folks here. Post your questions in the right forum for the quickets and best results.

Good luck on your truck....and how about a pic when you can.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome to the bolt from yet another Texan!
I love the 5 window jobbers and look forward to seeing your pics. Sorry I can't help with the overdrive question but there are a lot of folks who can.
I'd post your question in a forum better suited to get a result. This is like the greeting area. So glad you joined!
