I am building a 1956 TF with the orginal 3 spd and plan to put a Disc/drum booster/mc in the OEM spot under the floor. My delimma is how do I access it in the future? I was thinking some sort of trap door. Maybe a battery door from a 47-54 or custom cut and fit one? I know lots of these are in trucks. How did you guys deal with it and how did it work out?

Thanks
Brad

Mine doesn't leak anywhere so I don't have to access it but once, to fill it. I used this bottle that came with the CPP kit.

I have the same problem in my AD, I used a turkey baster!

If your system is leak free you shouldn't have to access it too often.
I remove the trans floor panel to get to it if need be.
It's a small inconvenience i'm prepared to live with

I cut out the floor above and made a cover (with a little recess). But to refill I would have to remove the seat. I like Don J's solution, I think I will go to that, much more elegant.

When I swapped to a dual MC, I cut a hole big enough to access, welded a "lip" on the cut out, and 4 corner fastened it in. Here's a couple of pics...

FWIW, the original plug still fits.

My m/c sits back far enough that I put a new plug in the original hole and then cut me a "oblong' hole in the floor. I will be making a thin sheet metal cover for it. Once the system is finished we should not have to open it up unless there is a problem.

I think you have the best looking option, where did you mount the resivor?. I am assuming it works on the same gravity fed principal as a hydraulic clutch. Is that right? What about initial purchase cost? Is the CCP a good system and what about customer service?

Here ya go...made a simple bracket and mounted it on the firewall. I did this about a year and a half ago when I did the disc brakes and power steering. I do remember having to get some extra tubing to make this work. Any trapped air will rise to the top, keep an eye on the fluid level at first. No leaks or problems yet,but I plan on replacing the plastic resevoir sometime in the future with something I can use metal tubing with. (and might look a little cooler!)
Hope this helps

I have a refill bottle just like the one that Cletis has. It is a pita filling it,but if everything is AOK you dont need to refill it anyway.
