You mean a hydraulic clutch? Sure it will handle a 350, most modern trucks all have a hydraulic clutch slave to disengage the clutch,

Made me think of my '50 Dodge or Plymouth with Fluid Drive.
Very weird set-up. But, back in 68, everything was kind weird.

My 65 C-80 with the 409 has a hydraulic clutch, how stout do you need it?

stout enough to handle 400-450 ft.lbs and about 450 hp tops..any way to beef them up? or do i just need to get an entirely new clutch?

All the hydraulics does is move the throw out bearing. It has nothing to do with how much torque the clutch will handle.

BTW-when I replaced the six in my first '62 with a V-8,I found the clutch fork was on the other side of the bell housing. If your bell housing doesn't have the built in pad for the slave cylinder(for V-8/mechanical clutch linkage),it's easy to make one from a little piece of angle bolted to the two upright inspection cover bolts behind the oil filter;drill and thread two holes in it to match the slave cylinder holes. The clutch fork from either V-8 or six set up will work fine. It'll be plenty strong;mine lasted through 3 engines. The hose will be too long;you can either route it to use up the extra length or replace it with a shorter one. I just ran mine up the firewall and back down to the slave cylinder with a loop in it,because it worked fine and I didn't wanna have to open the system and have to re-bleed it,and because I'm too cheap to buy another line.
