Any recommendations of how to's?
Thanks,

There are many methods for rivet removal, just use whatever method you are comfortable with, and try not to damage the thin retainer flange, good luck. | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | If you are referring to the rivets holding the backing plate on, you do not have to remove it to remove the axle. You need to remove the C clip on the inner end of the axle. Refer to a manual or do a search to find out how to do this. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Hope you seen it. | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 7 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 7 | Thanks Guys, LONGBOX55 & Achipmunk for the VALUABLE links & info, I appreciate it GREATLY!!! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 7 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 7 | Well finally got the axle seals replaced, relatively simple task once I read the procedure in the link LONGBOX55 sent me! While I was at it I replaced the wheel cylinders & brake shoes, can't wait to drive it down the road, however the weather in Cincy is cold & snowy right now. | | |
