Can't recall reading a post asking same question.( Engine is a 2nd series, so from a previous post, it came from the factory 12v). Don't care much for the Batt being under the hood. I own 2 AD trucks, and neither have the rubber floormat in place. Was the floormat just laid in the floor and then lifted up when the battery needed to be charged/replaced/etc. or did you have to take flanges loose to work on it?
I am considering building a new battery tray that will accommodate a larger battery that will fit through the hole. Looks like the last time it was updated was 14 years ago, there's several sizes listed on there that simply are no longer being made, plus many new sizes that's been added.

Maybe someone could post a link to an up-to-date chart/table?
Or, maybe someone could confirm that the 6v battery is Group-1. Then someone could take a tape measure and the Group-1 dimensions to a battery store and easily find ones that fit?

If I can remember to look, I might be able to get an updated chart from the shop tomorrow. Need to see if we have a spare book I can "borrow"  for a few days.
