After I read your response I went back out, climbed in the truck, pushed the drivers door handle forward, scooted across the seat, got out on the P side, walked around, and the door was locked! How easy is that?. I had been trying to do the push forward on the handle to lock it --with the door open. Don't work that way does it? Works just fine your way. I figured the driver side was replaced at some point by a previous owner. This forum rocks! Both doors still lock from the inside with the handle.

The one operated with a key just prevents the button in the handle from being pushed in. The one operated from the inner handle locks the internal mechanism. | | |
