the middle carb is bolted to to an axilery intake conected to the primary in take and is set up so there is independent control over it for use in the upper rpms. something like that

Funny, they used a repro fenton and offy combo as well on this custom head, in addition to the conversion kit.

This kit was probably used together with the original single intake and exhaust and the second carb was on a progressive linkage.
Interesting, the additional carb is mounted 90*.
It looks like the intakes are simply doubled.

I am dissapointed with that museum. They have 2 GMC motors mislabled as chevy 235s. The Fisher Chevy, and the Nicson Chevy motors are clear examples of the GMC 270- 302 engine. Just count the 5 expansion plugs in the side of the engine. How many 235 Chevy engines do you know that have more than 2?

The middle carb seems to have an own intake that is not cannected to the Offy. Looks like somebody has made 3 extra intake runners to feed each cylinder.

I wonder if they also splited the original runners.
