old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! A bit about myself, grew up on a farm in ND, we had a 55 1/2 ton and a 53 1 1/2 ton grain truck as well a 66 1/2 ton. I personally have owned a 57 3100 series, a 58 32 Apache, and a 46 stylemaster 2 door sedan so I am no stranger to the stovebolts. Maybe this is my midlife crisis or I am having an extreme bout of nostalgia for a simpler time when you drove the vehicle and not the other way around. My dad says that grandfather's truck was probably sent to the scrap heap years ago, but I hope to prove him wrong. At any rate it was a 55 Chevy 3100 with the deluxe cab (big window) with a 235 and the 3 speed. It even still had the factory radio delete plate in it. Unfortunately we sold it at the farm auction in 1979. I used to see it alongside highway 20 on the south side of Webster, ND (just north of Devils Lake)before we moved. My dad stopped to take a picture of it in 1981 when he returned for a funeral. That is the last time we saw "old blue", maybe someone here can help me to track him down again. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 | Best of luck in your search. How far south of Webster? Take a look at this carcass. pull the little man down to street level and look at the truck north of the house.

I have a couple of pics that I will figure out how to post (after I get my trophy wife to show me how to run the scanner) unfortunately they were taken in 1981 so I may have my work cut out for me!! | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | Welcome mountain man, hopefully you can prove your dad wrong about the truck's demise at the scrap yard. Good luck.
