Here are some pics of my 64 stepside. It is titled as a 1964 yet the frame is from a 1979 K15 chevy. The PO put in a new 350 crate engine and a 4 speed tranny. Along with a jeep transfer case to make it 4 wheel drive. Granny one will make it climb walls or pull stumps out, neither of which I want to try. I hauled a torn down deck and a cut up tree on the first day I had it. I plan to use it as a work truck. It runs good but needs some good TLC to make it look good and run better. It has been called the beast, the hulk, and a few more. As my winter projest progresses, I will post more pictures. Thanks in advance for all input and help that I will definitly be needing. Hal

Now THAT's a beauty! Sparks something deep down. The green reminds me of the Unimogs and Pinsgauers my buddy restores here in Prescott, AZ .

Started doing some work on the truck. Removed the rear fenders, steps, and bed. The bed is worse shape than I thought. No problem though, I'm going to put a temporary flat bed on it in the spring until I get the stepside bed done up right. This winter it goes in the garage to work on the cab, mecanical stuff, frame painting and other stuff. I posted more pics and here is the link. I took a picture of the driveshaft because it is 7 inches in diameter and was special made to fit. It was a local company that does this kind of stuff. MOre pics to come as the work progresses.

I've found that any work on a project is definitely progress. Looks like your on your way. Good luck. Thanks for the pics and yep, thats an unusal driveshaft.

I am not seeing the unusual drive shaft. All of the 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton 4x4 drive shafts were made like the one shown in your photos, as standard equipment. It may be 7" around, but it is not 7" in diameter.

You're right 4-5-6 Chevy Trucks. It is 7" round. My mistake.

To update a little. I started removing some of the front end today. Found out that the fenders and some other body metal is worse than I thought. Tons of putty just slopped in places. Pretty frustrating to find this out. In keeping a positive thought though, this way I can put all new parts on and do right. It will just take a little longer. Do it right the first time. I planning to have the front end and cab off and down to the chassis for the winter. Working on the chassis, engine, drivetrain and such in the garage over winter.
